Carbon Charter Award

The Bridge is pleased to announce that we have been recognised for our commitment to reduce our environmental impact by being accredited with the Bronze Carbon Charter certification.

Delivered by Groundwork East and overseen by the Environment Agency and Suffolk County Council, the Carbon Charter is awarded to organisations that are monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions. It is intended to provide public recognition of this vital step to our shared goal of Creating the Greenest County

Dave Jackson, CEO of the Bridge said “It has been a long-held ambition to do whatever we can to ensure that all areas of our social enterprise are as environmentally sustainable as possible, so to achieve this accreditation is great news and we thank the team at Groundworks for their support.  For example, we run a small fleet of electric vans and recent grant funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund has made it possible for us to add to this with a new seven-seater electric vehicle, enabling more of our young people and adults with learning disabilities to build their skills and contribute to our meal delivery programme to the elderly and vulnerable in the community”.
